"Not only am I eager to discuss the issues with you, I am willing to offer $10,000 to your campaign, today, for you to come on our Sunday special".
Though voters went with outsiders Snyder in 2010 and Trump in 2016 - the first Republican presidential victory in the state in decades - some said Tuesday that they liked Whitmer and Schuette's political experience.
Other GOP candidates are Lt. Gov. Brian Calley, state Sen.
Vice President Mike Pence, who sought to unify Republicans at a post-primary rally in Grand Rapids, said the "blue wall" crumbled in MI with Trump's 2016 win - the first for a GOP presidential nominee in decades.
Whitmer, the first-ever female leader of a MI state Senate caucus, beat back challenges from former Detroit health director Dr. Abdul El-Sayed and chemical-testing entrepreneur Shri Thanedar.
It is still possible that Whitmer chooses a male running mate for lieutenant governor.
On the Democrats' side, Gretchen Whitmer beat out newcomer Abdul El-Sayed. Slotkin, who has raised more money than Rep. Mike Bishop, said that particularly this year, voters are looking for candidates "who will no longer just kind of check the box on voting the right way" but are asking how they will defend their rights.
Trump to Impose Sanctions on Russia Nerve Agent Attack on Ex-Spy
Earlier Wednesday, State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert released a statement explaining the sanctions . There will also be some further restrictions on Russian access to United States financial services.
Other moments highlighted include false claims Ocasio-Cortez has made, which have since been debunked, including when she claimed unemployment rates are low because "everyone has two jobs" and when she said the US defense budget was allotted a $700 billion increase past year. "Detroit in on a great track, but there are so many things that need to be done. MI could be doing a lot better".
"I like balanced budgets".
"As your governor, I'll enforce our immigration laws and I'll ban sanctuary cities in Michigan", Schuette said in a recent advertisement that also featured Trump.
With almost 90 percent of precincts reporting, Schuette had roughly half of the GOP vote to Calley's quarter, with Colbeck and Hines at 13 percent and 11 percent respectively.
Voters in MI also decided two other primary races. In suburban Detroit's 11th District, GOP businesswoman Lena Epstein and Democrat Haley Stevens were leading the fields to follow a retiring Republican congressman.
Calling Gretchen Whitmer the most liberal member of anything is something her Democratic competitors would have contested during the primary.
