Loans to get costlier as RBI hikes repo rate again

The group which decide how much interest rates go up by is the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), headed up by Bank of England governor Mark Carney, who chairs the committee.

RBI in its policy statement has said that the risks to its 4 per cent inflation outlook has increased since its last meeting in June on account of rising trade tensions.

"For example, the average two-year fixed rate stood at 1.43% in November 2017 and has climbed to 1.58% today".
