Demi Lovato reportedly hospitalized for drug overdose

25 July 2018

Lovato suffered an overdose and was hospitalized, according to TMZ.

However, there's confusion over whether the overdose was heroin related.

Fox said it would pull its episode of "Beat Shazam" featuring Lovato, which was to air Tuesday night, because of the recent news.

"Her friends and him are just hoping that she gets better and that she can be great and thrive", the source added.

It is the same show that Iggy Azalea spoke of with ET earlier this month, when she excitedly revealed that she was opening for Lovato. The woman was transported to a nearby hospital, but Stewart said she could not confirm the woman's condition or provide any additional details. Speaking to AFP, a spokeswoman of the Los Angeles Fire Department stated the police responded with a team of medics after a call for medical emergency was made from Hollywood Hills street, where Demi Lovato resides.

Lovato refused to tell paramedics what drug caused her to overdose, and law enforcement sources tell TMZ that no drugs were seized at her home. The statement continued, "Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now". She shared the news in a single titled "Sober".

Proving to be a woman of many talents, Demi released her debut album Don't Forget in 2008.
