TEL AVIV, Israel - Britain's Prince William arrived in Israel on Monday, June 25, the first member of the royal family to make an official visit to Israel and the Palestinian territories.
"Having a relaxing evening with His Royal Highness Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, after his first day in #OurJordan", Hussein wrote in a caption that accompanied one of two pictures of the pair.
In Jerusalem, the holy city at the heart of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the prince will view its walled Old City from the Mount of Olives during his four-day trip.
Before settling down to soccer, William spoke at a garden reception at the British Embassy, praising Britain's historic ties with Jordan and the kingdom's commitment to hosting Syrian and Palestinian refugees.
"I was a six-year-old refugee kid, and here I am giving a book I wrote, to honour my father, basically, to a member of the royal family", he told Reuters.
The prince also meets Netanyahu on Tuesday and will see Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in the West Bank during the trip.
According to Israeli website Ynet, Mr Elki described it as "regrettable" Britain had chosen to politicise the royal visit.
Women in Saudi Arabia can now drive as longstanding ban ends
Al-Ajaji had a US driver's license before obtaining a Saudi one and appeared comfortable at the wheel as she pulled up and parked. Saudi Arabia is among the most conservative countries in the world and women have traditionally had much fewer rights than men.
Later, the prince will meet Israeli President Reuven Rivlin and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu before heading to coastal Tel Aviv to attend a football game of young Jewish and Arab players.
Prince William will also meet with two Holocaust survivors, Paul Alexander and Henry Foner, both survivors of the Kindertransport rescue effort which helped bring thousands of Jewish children from Europe to Britain during World War II.
He added: "United Jerusalem has been the capital of Israel for 3,000 years and no distortion in the tour itinerary can change that reality".
Israel captured east Jerusalem from Jordan in the 1967 Mideast war and annexed it in a move not internationally recognized.
The duke's visit comes during a period of increased tension in the region. The pair later watched the England-Panama World Cup match together. He was hosted by Crown Prince Hussein, 23, a member of the Hashemite dynasty Britain helped install in then-Transjordan nearly a century ago.
Prince William is now visiting the country alone as the Duchess is still on maternity leave, but we're sure she was only delighted with this little tribute to her childhood.
