Salah came off in tears half an hour into Liverpool's 3-1 loss to Real Madrid in Kiev on Saturday after hurting his shoulder under a challenge from Ramos, who later wished the Egypt worldwide a speedy recovery.

Spain began training on Monday in preparation for its pre-World Cup friendlies against Switzerland on June 3 and Tunisia on June 9.

"We thought it is worth waiting for Carvajal".

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was not optimistic of Salah's chances of featuring for Egypt at this summer's World Cup, with their campaign set to get underway against Uruguay in just under three weeks.

Of Saturday night result, Klopp said: "The boys tried everything and it wasn't the best script for us tonight".

Until Salah's injury, Liverpool had been on top, but following the shocking incident, they went on to lose due to a combination of two goalkeeping howlers by Loris Karius and a superb Gareth Bale goal.

He got up after receiving initial treatment from the physios and continued for another couple of minutes, but eventually the pain was unbearable and a tear filled Salah walked off the pitch.

"He didn't play the final, we lost a very important player like probably Egypt lost a very important player. You're the world's dirtiest player", a Salah fan claimed in a tweet addressed to Ramos. I still hope it's not like this.

"It was for me kind of a harsh challenge because the arm is there, it's like wrestling a little bit and the shock to the boys was obvious", he said.

"Sometimes football shows you it's good side and other times the bad".
