Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on his website that the "Americans are trying to put Saudis and some other regional countries before Iran".

"Americans are the ones who should leave. The Middle East, the west of Asia and the Persian Gulf is our home", Khamenei said.Iranian state TV quoted Iran´s Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi as saying Tehran would keep on backing its friends in the region despite U.S. pressure to curb its influence.

The Leader then decried the United States policy of countering the Islamic Republic by fomenting regional feud, adding, "The Americans are trying to pit the Saudis and some (other) regional countries against the Islamic Republic, while if they (Saudis) have any wisdom, they should not be deceived by the USA". "The United States is with Israel in this fight", Pompeo said during his meeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. "If they confront Iran, they will be defeated".

"The United States, not Iran, should withdraw from West Asia", he stressed.

After airstrikes against military bases in Syria on April 30, Iranian sources denied that any of its soldiers were killed in the attack.

"The Americans do not want to suffer the cost of confronting the Islamic Republic and the powerful nation of Iran themselves; they want to make some states in the region shoulder it", he continued.

The Leader then highlighted the need for supporting Iranian producers and businesses to deal with the enemy's economic war, calling on all Iranian officials and people to purchase homemade products and support the local market.

On his visit to Riyadh, Pompeo reassured Iran's key regional rival Saudi Arabia that the United States would exit Iran's 2015 multinational nuclear deal, unless European signatories of the accord "fix" it.

Relations between the United States are also at an all-time low with the Trump administration now weighing up whether to scrap the Iran nuclear deal signed by Barack Obama that ensured they would degrade the nuclear capabilities.

He added that the presence of US troops in the region is a source of insecurity and violence.
