Celtics 120, Bucks 106

20 April 2018

The second-seeded Boston Celtic shrugged off their injury crisis to down the Milwaukee Bucks, 120-106, and take a 2-0 lead in their first round series. As a team, the Celtics shot 53 percent from the field and 13 of 31 from the three-point line and on the defensive end they were able to force 15 turnovers which led to 21 points.

Boston Celtics guard Terry Rozier downplayed any bad blood with Milwaukee Bucks guard Eric Bledsoe and suggested that referring to him as "Drew" during a news conference after Game 1 was simply an accident.

Celtics guard Jaylen Brown led the way with 30 points and five other Boston players scored in double figures.

Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo had 30 points with eight rebounds and Khris Middleton scored 25. "Teams have been writing us off all year, and we just keep proving people wrong". They gave up the next seven points and couldn't get back to even again, with a three point deficit their high water mark over the final two and a half quarters as Boston pulled away.

The Celtics' bench also came up big, outscoring their Milwaukee counterparts 41-25. Antetokounmpo has averaged 32.5 points per game, 11.0 rebounds per game, and 7.5 assists per game on 63.2 percent shooting.

Eric Bledsoe hit a 3-pointer out of a timeout, but Morris answered right back to restore the 18-point gap.

The Celtics knew they'd need their younger players to step up this postseason with Kyrie Irving sidelined for the postseason.

Shohei Ohtani exits game with blister after 2 innings against Red Sox
With most pitchers, this would be a relatively small deal - one unlikely to impact their next start. In his previous start against Oakland, Ohtani carried a ideal game into the seventh inning.

Jaylen Brown certainly lead the way yesterday, with a tremendous 30 point performance, but Terry Rozier has been as important as anyone to this offense in two games.

Milwaukee Bucks: 3 takeaways from Game 2 vs. Celtics (read here): Josh Cornelissen over at Hoops Habit highlighted his three takeaways from the Bucks' Game 2 loss to the Celtics from Tuesday night. In two games they have combined for 121 points and in two games the Bucks have 213 points total.

John Wall scored 29 points, Mike Scott had 20 points and Ty Lawson 14 points for the Wizards, who host Game 3 on Friday night. Bledsoe is 4-of-13 when guarded by Rozier.

Boston came out with a blistering energy for Game 2 that mostly held from the opening tap all the way to the half. "That's just part of being a point guard, protecting the ball, so I'm going to do what I can to protect the ball and get my guys open to make plays".

"[Irving] sent us a message before the game today, just telling us what to expect", said Shane Larkin.

Maybe Bledsoe should study the tape to get to know Rozier.
