It appears Apple is once again determined to conquer the educational market after seeing the success of Google and Microsoft in the recent years. The technology will be akin to owning both an iPhone and an iPad.
While Samsung has been very public in its desire to release phones with foldable or flexible displays, Apple has made no such rumblings. "Let's take a field trip".
Apple's education-focussed event for 27 March caught many of us by surprise. This new device will most likely have a 2020 release date, the firm adds. The event on Tuesday at Lane Technical College Prep High School in Chicago will mark the first time Apple has held a product launch geared toward education since 2012 when it unveiled a tool for designing e-books for the iPad. It won't be long before we know whether the rumor of a gold iPhone X during the current product cycle is legitimate or just hot air. Kuo has also said that Apple Pencil shipments will double this year.

While there's no doubt that Apple devices are capable of handling classroom needs, the fact remains that the devices are often viewed as a luxury rather than a necessity. Apple now wants to clinch the same success by targeting students and teachers alike with its new iPad. The company does not normally host events in March, with announcements being restricted to June (WWDC) and September (iPhone event). It is still unknown if the event will be availble for live streaming.
