Tiger Woods to play PGA Tour events as part of Masters preparations

03 March 2018

The PGA saw its highest rating of the season with Tiger playing on the weekend and saw a almost 40 per cent jump in TV viewership from last year's Honda Classic when the colourful and popular American Rickie Fowler was on the leaderboard.

The 42-year-old American will play in next week's Valspar Championship near Tampa and the following week's Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando.

It will be the first time Woods has played the Valspar tournament, but it looks like Tiger is serious about getting himself properly ready for another Masters challenge.

After a 12th place finish at the Honda Classic, tons of bettors are putting money on Woods to win his fifth green jacket at Augusta National this April, and his odds have shot up to 16-to-1, according to Bovada. He also missed the cut last month at Riviera. For the sake of comparison, in his last two truly healthy years (2012-13) Woods also played five tournaments prior to the Masters.

"It means keep building my body, keep building towards April".

If its leader maintains a dictatorial rule for long, the risks of policy rigidities and corruption will grow without a doubt. Whether power corrupts is not a matter of checks and balances alone, as those who check each other can be mutually corrupt.

The PGA Tour says he committed on Friday to play next week in the Valspar Championship at Innisbrook.

"I don't think he's all the way there and all the way back".

"I need to keep building on it", said Woods last week to reporters at ther Honda Classic.

Woods was pleased with his ballstriking all week in tough, windy conditions and stressed the importance of playing in enough tournaments before the Masters.

The World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play event is held the week following the Arnold Palmer Invitational but Woods is not eligible as it consists of the world's top 64 players as of March 11.
