The release of the OnePlus 5T so early after the last flagship miffed OnePlus 5 owners as their latest and greatest was rendered obsolete.

The limited OnePlus 5T Star Wars Edition is basically styled in black and white and pays homage to the style of Stormtroopers - who is a fictional soldier in the Star Wars. This makes the price Rs 1000 more expensive than the regular model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.

After days of anticipation and hype, OnePlus 5T Star Wars Edition has been officially launched in India. But that's not enough, the company rolled out the new Lava Red color variant of the device a few days ago.

The new version of the device will be a delight for Star Wars fans. The OnePlus 5T Star Wars device boasts of a Star Wars logo on the back along with a "Red Mineral " alert slider. Put together, there is enough power in this phone to kick-start a dying star, so to say-if smartphones could do such a thing in the galaxy, that is.

The 6-inch AMOLED display with minimal bezels is very immersive to use. For protection, OnePlus has used Gorilla Glass 5. The screen has been equipped with SUnlight Display which adjusts to the ambient light and activity to create optimum viewing experience. It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 835 SoC, clocked at up to 2.45GHz, paired with either 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM.

Coming to specs, the handset supports dual-SIM and runs OxygenOS 4.7 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

The primary camera comes with aperture of F/1.7. It also has 16 megapixels front camera. The OnePlus 5T also comes with refined Electronic Image Stability (EIS) for better video and image stabilisation. The front-facing camera is the usual 16 MP unit. The feature detects eyes and nose contours of the user and delivers 99 per cent success rate even with scarves or while making amusing faces. The phone has a USB Type-C port at the bottom. The shift to an 18:9 aspect ratio allowed the OEM to deliver a full-fledged phablet with a compact physical footprint that can still be operated in a single hand while simultaneously prompting it to remove the phone's physical Home button and equip it with a rear-mounted fingerprint reader. It is packed with same 3300mAh battery with path breaking Dash Charge and which can fill the full battery from zero to full in just 30 minutes.
