Louisiana, Mississippi and SC recorded the highest number of outpatient visits for all influenza-like illnesses. Several states are seeing regional influenza activity, according to the CDC's FluView map.

The agency says there have been over 1,800 confirmed cases of influenza in 54 counties. The case rate for Georgetown County was 32 per 100,000, while Florence County had 31. Flu injections will only be offered at the "Flu Express" on the specified dates, to individuals in good health without active infections.
People aged 75 years and older and people living in sub-Saharan African countries experienced the highest rates of flu-associated respiratory deaths.

To fight the flu, the CDC and local health department recommends getting a flu vaccine, taking everyday preventive actions to stop the spread of germs and taking flu antiviral drugs if your doctor prescribes them.
Fifty-four percent of the influenza-like illness specimens submitted to the Indiana State Department of Health's laboratory tested positive for flu in the week ending on December 2.
