Carol Danvers was an Air Force pilot who was infused with alien Kree DNA after touching some of the Kree's enhanced technology. She finds herself with superhuman abilities afterward including super strength, energy projection, and flight.

Sources have toldVariety that The Talented Mr. Ripley star is now in negotiations to play Doctor Walter Lawson, otherwise known as Mar-Vell, the Kree Hero who was the original Captain Marvel in the comics. Should a deal place, he'll play the film's male lead alongside Larson and, presumably, Star Wars alum Ben Mendelsohn.

Captain Marvel is slated to hit theaters on March 8, 2019. He'll also be seen in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, playing Young Dumbledore opposite Johnny Depp (ugh) as Young Grindelwald. It is now unclear on what role Law will play. More on the Captain Marvel movie as it comes our way. He is also attached to reprise his role as Doctor Watson in a third Sherlock Holmes movie opposite Tony Stark himself, Robert Downey Jr.
