There's more to the flagship Corvette than its powerful engine, however, as the ZR1 has also gone through a series of aerodynamic upgrades compared with the previous range-topping beast, the Z06. The resulting outputs - 755 hp at 6,300 rpm and 715 pounds-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm - are the most in the Corvette's production history, GM says. As a powertrain mechanic with seven gears or automatic eight. Powered by a supercharged LS9 engine, it made 638 horsepower with a top speed of just 205 miles per hour. Because of the American supercar's ability to hit such an insane speed, Chevrolet engineers have created two new aero packages to help with downforce.
The 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 will have a price starting around $120,000, but all loaded up, the price will likely top out well over the $150k mark when it goes on sale in the Spring of 2018.
Chevy unveiled the 2019 Corvette ZR1 on Monday at the Dubai International Motor Show, sporting a not so subtle Sebring Orange paint job - which garnered almost as much attention as the car's horsepower figure.
Here is a quick rundown of the key facts on the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and it should be noted that these are all official figures - not something taken from a magazine or internet forum.
Dream Chaser passes a big milestone with a successful glide test landing
Along with SpaceX and Orbital ATK, Sierra Nevada is under contract from NASA for as many as six cargo flights to the station. The company also has a contract with the United Nations to launch payloads into orbit on the Dream Chaser.
The Corvette is generally thought of as an accessible sports auto, but GM refers to the ZR1 as a "supercar".
Both aero packages also include a front underwing.
General Motors (GM) also stated that the 2019 Corvette ZR1 is the most carbon-fiber-packed GM vehicle to date. It has 13 heat exchangers in total thanks to the addition of four radiators, an opening in the carbonfibre bonnet that the entire supercharger/intercooler assembly pokes through, and a completely new design for the front fascia to make sure enough air is channelled through to that LT5 V8. The high wing generates 60-percent more downforce than the optional Z07 Performance Package on the Corvette Z06. This design package also includes body-coloured brake calipers, rocker and splitter accent stripes, seat belts and stitching, as well as exclusive bronze aluminum interior trim.
Inside, Motor Trend says, the new ZR1 features leather seats with "suede-like microfibre" highlights, along with "an option to make them heated and cooled". Both of the new ZR1's wing setups are attached directly to the chassis, similar to the construction on the Corvette Racing C7.R. The price is yet to be announced, but if you must ask, you probably can not afford it. Count on spending six figures, though, and that's before dealers add markup.
