Patricia Spann insisted to investigators she didn't have contact with her kids until a few years ago.
But in 2014, mother and daughter reunited and Misty said the pair hit it off and even discussed adopting a child together.
Mother Spann allegedly told cops she didn't think the twosome broke any laws - because she was no longer listed as a parent on Misty's birth certificate. She also once married her son Cody, who claims both he and his sister were manipulated by Patricia Ann.
The marriage was annulled October 12 after Misty filed for an annulment "by reason of illegality and fraud", She said her mother told her she had received legal advice indicating that their marriage was legal because Patricia's name was no longer on Misty's birth certificate. She said her mother told her she had received legal advice indicating that their marriage was legal. "Obviously, some of the things that I took into consideration was her age and her lack of any criminal history and that is how we came to that plea agreement". "Patricia's a very disgusting and awful person". Patricia, 44, is Misty's mother. Cody said he, Patricia and his siblings spent some time in Texas where Patricia and Jody became close. In a ruling that voided the marriage last month, a district court judge found that Patricia Spann "induced" her daughter "by fraud to enter the marriage". "Yes, she was. But my sister was scared", Cody said.
