Western Kentucky had three teams post flawless scores and all Hilltopper and Lady Topper sport programs scored well above the Federal Graduation Rate in the NCAA's most recent release of the Graduation Success Rate Report.
The 87 percent figure represents what the NCAA calls its graduation success rate, which excludes athletes who leave their institutions while academically eligible to compete and includes those players who transfer into an institution, which the association characterizes as more accurately representing how students flow through college. The rates are a four-year rolling average, so athletes who began in 2007 through 2010 are included in the current numbers.
Implemented 13 years ago by the NCAA, field hockey and women's tennis continued their streak of 13-straight seasons with a 100 percent GSR.
Graduation Success Rates nationwide once again set new records in the latest reveal of student-athlete achievement, and with an overall 95 percent GSR the Wildcats continue to be ahead of the curve when compared to the national averages.
"We're proud of the success our student-athletes have made in the classroom", Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt said. Men's tennis earned its third-straight 100, and volleyball has recorded a ideal 100 graduation success rate since the metric began being released.
First openly transgender woman of color elected to public office in US
According to the Post , Roem said on Tuesday night, as her margin of victory became clear, "Discrimination is a disqualifier". Victory Fund says Jenkins is the first openly transgender woman ever elected to the city council of a major US city.
Basketball's score of 75 was a 25 percent increase over last year's rate of 60. Twelve of Clemson's 14 sports eclipsed the national average for NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision schools. Athletes who transfer in good standing do not count against the school's GSR.
This calculation makes it a more complete and accurate look at student-athlete success. Analysis of the 2011-12 class suggests that Purdue's GSR will improve to the department goal of 85 percent in the spring of 2018.
Five of the Herd's programs had ideal 100 percent rates. Baseball, men's track and field, soccer and softball, meanwhile, all held steady or improved their GSR scores.
Loyola had flawless GPRs for men's cross country, men's golf, men's soccer, men's swimming and diving, men's tennis, women's basketball, women's cross country and track and field, women's lacrosse, women's rowing, women's soccer, women's swimming and diving, women's tennis and women's volleyball.
